What is tradie2trainer?

Many industries and trade areas are struggling to attract employees, develop the next generation, retain older workers, capture and manage their knowledge base. Upskilling & retaining existing workers in the industry that would otherwise be lost along with their skills and experience.

The tradie2trainer program is run on behalf of the construction industry, and it underpins efforts by the CITB to work with multiple industry associations to provide a qualification and career pathway for mature workers suited to up-skilling into an education and training role.

tradie2trainer is provided at no cost to participants.

What is included in tradie2trainer?

Participants who successfully complete the tradie2trainer program will receive:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
  • Training in Word, Excel, PowerPoint (if required)
  • Work experience opportunities from CITB endorsed training providers
  • A working with children check (if required)

Am I eligible for tradie2trainer?

Those eligible to participate include the following:

  • Permanent residents
  • Self-employed workers or contractors
  • Injured workers seeking a pathway to return to work.
  • Permanent residents of Australia
  • Workers in any region of South Australia who have an approved CITB number.
