Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Discuss the personal, business and legal reasons for investigating incidents
- Describe the relationship between hazards and breakdown in the organisation's WHS management systems
- Identify with reference to categories of hazards, the contributory factors which are the direct cause of the incident and their means of control
- Conduct an investigation of a given incident, use the appropriate analysis methods to determine contributory hazards, management system breakdowns and required improvements for a given accident

Course Objectives

This program provides the skills and knowledge to conduct effective incident investigation in the workplace, The program outlines the need for investigation, incident cause modelling, categories of hazards, hierarchy of risk controls, cause and effect analysis and fault tree analysis.
