General Awareness This course satisfies South Australia's registration requirements under Australian Standards 1851, for a person testing or inspecting fire sprinklers and/or suppression systems.
Competency Standard Students are required to successfully complete the following units of competency from the certificate II in the Fire Protection Inspection and Testing: - CPPCMN2002 Participate in workplace safety arrangements - CPPFES2006A Prepare for installation and servicing operations - CPPFES2004A Identify types of installed fire safety equipment and systems - CPCPFS3040A Conduct basic functional testing of water-based fire-suppression systems - CPCPFS3041A Inspect and test fire pumpsets - CPPFES2010A Inspect and test fire hose reels - CPPFES2037A Inspect and test fire hydrant systems - CPPFES2047A Inspect and test control and indicating equipment
Prerequisites Participants must be: - Currently working in the fire protection industry, testing or inspecting fire sprinklers and /or suppression systems - Able to demonstrate two years' experience.
Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this learning program, South Australian residents will be awarded the Statement of Attainment.

Course Objectives

This course is targeted towards the existing SA Fire Protection labour force, with the intent of successful candidates being eligible to apply for the Restricted Plumbing Workers' Registration for Testing and Inspecting of Fire Suppression Systems; South Australia.
