Apprentice Training Support Funding

If your apprentice is undertaking a CITB-eligible qualification you may be eligible for CITB's Apprentice Training Support funding.

Short Course Funding

You and your employees can claim up to $3,000 worth of training fee subsidies for construction short courses each financial year. Just make sure your employees have their own CITB number.


Is our business eligible?

CITB eligibility criteria can be found here, minimum requirements for businesses are below:

  • Business is based in South Australia
  • Performing building and construction work as per the CITF Act.

Is there a cost?

There is no cost to become a CITB eligible employer. We receive our funds from the .25% CITB levy that is applied to all construction projects in SA over $40,0000. We put this back into the industry through subsidised training and funding employers to train and retain apprentices.

How can we apply?

Simply, complete the employer registration form online.

You will need your ABN and licence numbers (if applicable), e.g. BLD/PGE to complete the form. Allow 10 minutes to complete and submit this online application. You will not be able to save details entered and come back at a later time.

Once we have received your application, we will assess the information you have provided against our criteria. We may contact you for further information during this process. You will be notified via email once we make a decision.

The application process takes between 3-5 business days.
