What is Apprenticeship Training Support?
CITB provides funding support for employers of apprentices and trainees in the building and construction industry to contribute to the costs of off-job and on-job training, supervision, and assessment.

How is the ATS paid?
Below is a graphic showing the ATS funding schedule, based on your apprentice’s qualification.
Please read further down for a written example of the funding.
Electrotechnology:
Based on a 4 year apprenticeship, a total funding amount of $6,200 is available and will paid at the completion of each year as a single payment of $1,550 (up to a total of 4 payments).
*Dual Trades will receive an additional payment of $1,550 on completion of year 5.
Non-Electrotechnology:
Based on a 4 year apprenticeship, a total funding amount of $11,200 is available and will paid at the completion of each year as a single payment of $2,800 (up to a total of 4 payments).
Civil Construction (Cert III):
Based on a 3 year apprenticeship, a total funding amount of $11,205 is available and will paid at the completion of each year as a single payment of $3,735 (up to a total of 3 payments).
Is my business eligible for ATS?
To be eligible for funding, you, as the registered employer must:
- Be registered and approved as an employer with CITB
- Meet employer obligations described in the Training Contract (TC) and supporting Training Plan (TP).
- Ensure your apprentice/trainee is still employed and in an active full or part time training contract for the claim period.
- Have paid / will pay trade school fees for the apprentices/trainees.
- Acknowledge that CITB will seek to recover any payment made that is not compliant with funding criteria.
- Ensure your apprentice has an approved CITB number that is linked to your ABN

How to Apply
- Register your business with CITB.
- Get your apprentice to apply or renew their CITB number.
- Receive your login details from CITB.
We will send you an email notification once you have a claim ready to submit.
